In this course, students will gain the ability to critically analyse constructions of human rights and their application to social work and community development. Students will develop an understanding of international and Australian human rights laws and treaties including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Australian human rights legislation, organisations, policies and practices and community development theories and frameworks.
