This course considers the relationship between media texts, industries, and cultures in the era of on-demand media to understand what it means to make and consume texts today. Using case studies of TV, video games, popular music and social media, students will develop critical knowledges on how digital and participatory technologies shape textuality, representation, and audience practices.
