The aim of this course is to introduce students to the study, design and analysis of structures in buildings and the behaviour of the materials used in these structures. In this course the students would typically study the following subjects: soil and ground behaviour, footing design, slope stability, loads on buildings, structural materials, structural members, structural frames, bracing of buildings, walls, concrete members, steel members and domestic construction.
